HVAC Journeyman Requirements:
Candidates must possess the following experience: Commercial HVAC or refrigeration service and repair. Ideal candidate will have Hands On Experience with some or all of the following: 5 ton to 100 ton Roof Top Units, split systems, heat pumps, unit heaters, infrared heaters, make up air systems, walk in cooler, freezer, warehouse coolers, cold storage freezers reach ins, ice machines, commercial ventilation systems and kitchen hood systems. Installation experience is always a plus.
Mechanical Journeyman License preferred but not required. If you don’t have it you will be required to take the test within the first 90 days of employment. We will help with registration if needed and will train the right candidates. We do have schooling which we will pay for most classes with pay for the entire time you are there. Some factory training may be required on specific equipment paid for by Tristate.

We have an immediate job opening for an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead HVAC employees to install, maintain, and repair our client’s Refrigeration and HVAC systems. As an HVAC Service Manager in our St Louis office you must routinely collaborate closely with repair and install technicians, dispatch workers, and provide technical support to ensure customer loyalty while achieving departmental objectives and goals. Managers often communicate directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to provide accurate information on job or project status and needs. Keep inventory and manage truck stock and shop management. The Service Manager must serve as a representative of the company.
Service Manager Responsibilities:
- Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team members to ensure the team’s objectives and sales goals are met.
- Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
- Assisting with or performing administrative tasks, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and tracking inventory.
- Setting up and maintaining a service desk and evaluating its efficiency.
- Resolving service desk problems and improving service methods to increase the service desk’s productivity and customer service.
- Monitoring department issues and client complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.
- Auditing work and customer service to ensure the company’s high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
- Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
- Helping to train new employees in company procedures.
Qualifications
Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external clients. Must have the ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects, tasks and issues with tact, cooperation, and persistence. Ability to prioritize work activities based upon financial impact to desired business goals. Experience and/or basic project accounting or costing principals is desired.
Diploma in electronic or mechanical systems, or equivalent plus seven years of experience in the HVAC and/or building controls systems. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred. Work requires one or two years of prior experience in directing or leading the work of others.
